Contra
When I got this cheap retro handheld, I didn't have much familiarity with old titles besides Mario. So you can imagine how discouraging it was to try all these old games that are known for their hard difficulty. Contra was the exception. This bootleg copy, or whatever you wanna call it, had the cheats built in. So I could now try it with 30 lives. That was a game-changer. It soon became one of my top favorites from this device because of that. I was able to slowly learn at my own pace. The game is a lot of fun!
Here you can see the options available.
Fun Fact:
There was something known as the "Konami Code," which was a cheat in the original game that gave the player 30 lives.
Other Game Facts:
Contra was developed in the year 1987 and was available on the NES and Famicom systems. It was produced by Konami. It was originally based on an arcade game by the same name. Some levels are side-scrolling, while others are played from a behind-the-shoulder perspective.
I will try to figure out a way to get some screenshots of future games. I couldn't get any I was happy with while playing, but I will attach an old YouTube video I recorded for this a year or more ago. Bear with me as I learn coding. I know this is without frills and such, but I am learning.
